Motorcycle Safety Solutions Joins Together for Safer Roads to Support Global Road Safety

New York, NY (May 14, 2025) — Together for Safer Roads (TSR), a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing road safety through cross-sector collaboration and technological innovation, is proud to welcome s Motorcycle Safety Solutions (MSS) as its newest member.

“Motorcycle Safety Solutions’ commitment to using data, research, and technology-driven approaches to enhance road safety reflects our organization’s ethos, and we are honored to have them as a new member,” said Peter Goldwasser, TSR’s Executive Director. “Supporting cost-effective, accessible solutions to reduce motorcycle crashes is paramount to saving lives and creating a safer overall road ecosystem,” continued Goldwasser.

The work of companies like Motorcycle Safety Solutions is more important than ever. According to the 2023 Global Status Report on Road Safety, the number of motorbikes and scooters has nearly tripled since 2011, with these vehicles involved in nearly a quarter of global road traffic deaths. And, pursing motorcycle safety solutions is a key part of achieving The Decade of Action for Road Safety’s global goal of reducing road traffic deaths by at least 50% by 2030,

“Having the motorcycle sector more involved is highly valuable to road safety efforts. MSS is providing an important resource to help prevent fatalities, and we are proud to welcome them as members of TSR,” said Andres Peñate, Together for Safer Roads Board Chair and Global VP Corporate Affairs at Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Motorcycle Safety Solutions’ Motorcycle Collision-Alert and Management System (MCAMS) was specifically designed to be both scalable and affordable, with the goal of helping to reduce crashes for companies that use motorcycle fleets for their delivery services in low and middle-income countries.

“Approximately 30% of global road deaths involve motorcycles, while in developing nations, that number can be more than 70%,“ said Dr. Richard Hanowski, Motorcycle Safety Solutions’ CEO and Senior Research Scientist. “There is an overwhelming need for scientifically validated, affordable aftermarket motorcycle safety technology. To meet this need, we developed the Motorcycle Collision-Alert and Management Systems to improve rider behavior and reduce risk.”

Designed for all riders, MCAMS works with all size motorcycles, scooters, and powered two-wheeled vehicles, including low-capacity bikes. The three-tiered design has easily installed hardware that monitors the surrounding roadway and alerts the rider of unsafe conditions, while a mobile app provides post-ride feedback to help improve rider safety. In addition, its data-centric, AI-driven Total Fleet Safety Management system assesses individual and fleet risk and conveys feedback to riders and fleet managers.

“While motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters are an affordable option in many low- and middle-income countries, their design leaves riders especially vulnerable to injuries and death in crashes,” explained Dr. Hanowski. “We are dedicated to improving road safety outcomes for this growing segment of riders and look forward to collaborating with other TSR members who share our vision.”
