ProColor Collision Cowansville Welcomes a New Generation, Marking a New Chapter in a Family Legacy

Blainville, QC — July 2, 2026 — Fix Network is proud to mark a new chapter for ProColor Collision Cowansville, a long-established member of the banner, as it welcomes its fourth generation under the leadership of owner Alain McDermott.

Deeply rooted in the Cowansville community for over 50 years, ProColor Collision Cowansville’s story is defined by resilience, continuity, and a strong family foundation. In 1974, the McDermott family faced a tragic turning point when Alain’s grandfather and founder of the collision repair shop passed away in a road accident. In response, his grandmother stepped in to lead during the challenging period. A couple of years later, Alain’s father joined the business, quickly becoming instrumental in maintaining stability and driving its growth.

In the mid-‘90s, a time when increasing demand required greater involvement, Alain officially came on board alongside his father. As time passed, the shop kept pace with industry changes, including the decision to become a ProColor Collision franchise, a partnership now approaching its 20-year milestone. Today, with Alain’s sons now involved, ProColor Collision Cowansville continues to carry that generational legacy forward. As part of Fix Network’s family of brands, they can rely on the support and strength of a global organization built on empowering locally owned businesses while preserving their entrepreneurial spirit.

“This has always been about perseverance and family,” said Alain McDermott. “What began as a difficult moment in our history became the foundation for what we’ve built over the years. With this fourth generation now playing an active role, we are proud to continue moving forward while honouring where we came from.”

ProColor Collision Cowansville remains deeply committed to its community, with a focus on supporting youth and contributing to the region that has supported the business for decades. Through initiatives such as scholarships, work-study opportunities, and active participation in local causes, the team continues to play an important role in promoting growth both within the automotive repair industry and the region it calls home.

“For me, it’s more than running a business. It’s about taking on a leadership role by promoting a positive, respectful environment where our team feels valued every day and by carrying that same leadership mindset beyond our doors and into the surrounding neighbourhoods we serve,” said McDermott. “We believe it is our responsibility to create opportunities and give back in a meaningful way.”

Alongside this relationship-driven focus, ProColor Collision Cowansville continues to invest in innovation to meet the demands of an industry that never stands still. By implementing advanced technologies such as ADAS calibration and a modern automated paint mixing system, they’ve enhanced both precision and efficiency. With an expanded workforce, multiple industry certifications, as well as ongoing investments in equipment, training, and facility expansion, the collision repair centre remains agile, adapting to customer needs while delivering reliable repair solutions.

“ProColor Collision Cowansville is a strong example of how a family business can pivot and adapt while staying true to its roots,” said Éric Levéillé, regional vice president, Quebec, Fix Network. “Alain and his team have built a resilient operation that combines tradition, human-centred values, and a future-focused approach to technology and service.”

ProColor Collision Cowansville’s success can be traced to its ability to embrace the new with the tried and true. As it enters this next chapter, the focus remains on quality workmanship, innovation, and strong local connections, embodying Fix Network’s commitment to leading industry standards and its mission to serve as the trusted partner through life’s unexpected moments. It is this balance of tradition and forward thinking that will continue to define their path forward.
