Best Mechanical Duo Crowned at the NAPA Rally 5000!
Heated competition ensures success of spectacular event
The winning teams!
The winning team - twins Nicolas and Martin Tousignant - took home $10,000 in cash and another $5,000 in parts and products from NAPA Auto Parts. They outpaced the Smoking Turbots - Atlantic Canada’s representatives - who won $3,000 in cash and $1,000 in parts and products from NAPA Auto Parts, not to mention the Prairie Dogs - worthy representatives of the Canadian Prairies—who left with $500 in cash and an equal amount in parts and products. Finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, British Columbia’s Pacific Rims and Ontario’s 401 Patrol walked away empty-handed but full of great memories of their cross-country adventure.
Crossing Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Quebec, the second annual NAPA Rally 5000 was designed to put each participant’s resourcefulness and mechanical abilities to the test. The results were staggering: a fiercely fought, emotionally wrought competition that can be viewed again and again at naparally5000.ca. Also, check out the photo album of Season 2 of the NAPA Rally 5000 on our Flickr page (www.flickr.com/photos/naparally5000) To conclude this terrific second season, the organizing committee would like to sincerely thank its esteemed partners, without whom this event would not have been possible. In particular, we would like to thank Auto Canada for providing the participants’ five cars, as well as for the use of their Dartmouth facilities. The following contributors were also indispensable: Adaptive One hybrid ceramic disc brake pads, Irwin Tools, NAPA Brake and Chassis, NAPA Filters, and Gates belts and hoses.
