Three new NAPA locations

By Marty Kingston

The NAPA AUTO PARTS network has been busy lately with no less than 3 brand new NAPA buildings. All three NAPA stores in Amherst, Fredericton and Perth-Andover left older buildings and have relocated to retail/commercial areas in order to improve customer service and delivery.

In Amherst (photos above and below), the new location at 63 South Albion offers a huge showroom and ample parking. Manager George Douglas said “we are where we should be, it’s a prime location for NAPA, we can offer better service to our installers and now we have a very-consumer friendly showroom.”

NAPA FREDERICTON (photos below) also opened it’s door at a brand new location at 525 Bishop Drive in Fredericton. The store has drawn rave reviews from customers for the large, open-concept showroom and lots of parking and easy access.

NAPA Fredericton is also open Sundays and Manager Justin Bennett says it’s been busy as consumers stop by for their winter items and products, “It’s a impressive modern automotive store, great location too!.” You can Email Marty here.

Uni-Select monster evenings, a first in our industry!

By Cindy Fitzsimmons

Uni-Select Inc has recently held their “MONSTER EVENING” across Canada, where two 2006 Mustang GT’s were given away to installers! This event was for Installers, and by invitation only. (each Uni-Select Divison across Canada held these Monster Evenings simultaneously, and the draw was done via electronic ballot).

Uni-Select innovates again – this time with the “Monster Evenings”, an unprecedented event in the automotive aftermarket industry! No event of the kind had ever reached such heights . . . over 1600 installers came from 395 cities throughout the country to participate in these formative evenings, which were made possible with the support of Uni-Select’s major suppliers. Held simultaneously in 12 Canadian cities on October 19th, the Monster Evenings united close to 2000 people - shop owners, technicians, Uni-Select jobbers and suppliers - towards a common goal:

To acquire the skills to offer a better customer service while enjoying increased profitability. These interactive and dynamic evenings featured Select Auto Expert (SAX), Uni-Select’s exclusive new installer support program, along with speakers sharing their expertise and offering privileged information on new technologies and new products, technical training, seasonal maintenance and sales techniques.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit a trade show and discuss with many suppliers. The Monster Evenings closed with the live internet broadcast of an exciting draw; every participant in each of the 12 participating cities watched on huge screens while four $1000 cash prizes and two Ford Mustang GT convertible 2006 – nothing less – were given away ! The two magnificent vehicles were offered by Affinia, via a Raybestos promotion, and by Uni-Select and its participating suppliers.

Affinia/Raybestos Mustang: Mr. Paul Major, UniPro installer from Montebello Quebec (Auto Parts Plus Entreprises Marcel Cayer in Papineauville).

Uni-Select Mustang: Mr. Stéphane Poirier, SAX installer from Caraquet New-Brunswick (Auto Parts Plus Max Pièces d’auto in Caraquet).

$1000 prizes: Messrs Rob Barbon/Dave McIntyre from Victoria BC, John Calder from Calgary Alberta, Bill Middleton from London Ontario and Brian Gavin from Tignish, Prince Edward Island.

A refreshing concept and a great success . . . Uni-Select is proud to congratulate the winners and thanks everyone, particularly our supplier partners, who took part in the Monster Evenings!

Uni-Select Claim Your Steak Party a big hit!

By Cindy Fitzsimmons

Uni-Select Inc. This event was sponsored by Dayco, Raybestos, Walker, Monroe, Wilson and Wix, and was held in conjunction with Uni-Select and its membership.

The representatives traveled around the Atlantic provinces visiting the Uni-Select members; setting up “The Grill” and inviting all the members customers for a great steak luncheon. At the end of the day at each location there was a draw for a George Foreman Grill for the installers in attendance! Everyone enjoyed this wonderful customer relations event, and look forward to something similar for 2006!
