ATA Schedules Hybrid Training
The Automotive Trades Association is committed to making skills upgrading opportunities available to the Industry. Executive Director Graham Conrad has announced that the ATA has established a new partnership with David Giles, D.A.T.S. High-Tech Automotive Solutions, to provide high quality technical training courses.
Following the very successful and well-attended training program on Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems, the ATA is launching a new 3-hour course on Hybrids.
In the mid 80s fuel injection was introduced to decrease fuel consumption in all vehicles. This was a transition for the industry and technicians who grasped the technology and learned about fuel injection excelled. Hybrids are the next generation of change, using new technology to get even more mileage from vehicles.
With their introduction in 2000, sales for Hybrids are increasingly climbing, for example last year Toyota Prius out-sold Ford Mustang and total Hybrid sales out-sold all Volkswagen vehicles in North America. The need for hybrid knowledge is clear and the need is now.
Auto Collision Technicians are not exempt from these new systems as all hybrids are steel body 4 door vehicles (except the Honda Insight).
This means that service and repair practices are important to understand and follow. Incorrect replacement of a body panel could mean personal injury or refinishing a vehicle could cause catastrophic failure of the High Voltage Batteries.
As always, each course is 3 hours from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at a cost of $85.00 plus tax per person.
ATA members pay $60.00 plus tax per person. Again, this training is beneficial for both Auto Body and Auto Service Technicians.
